We went to check out some serious Christmas lights last night!! So spectacular!!! All that sparkle and colour!!! It speaks of joy and laughter and all the things that make the season of Christmas one of the favourites of the year!!! And larger than life in the middle of them all is Santa - the gift giver of every child's dreams!! It's a season of love and hope and wonder - and we revel in the way it feels!!
But behind all the glitter and glow is a richer, deeper meaning. It's the place where the joy and peace that we celebrate, comes from! The God who made us, and the amazing world we live in, saw the pain that swallows us up in this life, and made a plan to save us. He poured himself into a tiny babe, who grew into a man, who would break death's chains for us! That's hope!! That's life!!! And it's why the bells ring and hearts are lighter!!!
So as Christmas engulfs us in lights and food and gift giving and loved ones, don't lose sight of that humble little manger scene that gives it all its meaning!
