Finished!

Jesus great battle was done. He had declared "It is finished!" (John 19:30) - then bowed his head and died. But his soul did not rise to heaven - even in his perfection! For a while, it appeared that death had grasped him forever!! That the forces of evil had won!!

A dreadful darkness had fallen. The one who spoke light into existence had succumbed to its nemesis!! And an awful shiver rippled through creation as it's maker breathed no more.

They laid his lifeless body in a tomb of stone. A heavy boulder was rolled across its entrance to protect his empty form. There was no life or light there. His body lay dormant throughout the Sabbath hours. To all appearances, hope itself was lost. The author of life was gone.
