Is he Lord???

God doesn't want us to live in doubt of our salvation. He wants us to know it!!! It's a gift!! Freely given!! From a heart of purest love. He wants you to know it is yours!! But there is a warning attached.

There is such a thing as complacent Christianity. These are Christians who believe they are saved, but never actually give him full Lordship - never admit him to much of their mundane lives. They logically accept that God is - that he created all things and paid the highest price to redeem mankind! But their hearts are pretty much out of the equation.

These are the 5 virgins, with little oil in their lamps, suddenly aware of their deficit when the bridegroom comes near! (Matthew 25:1-13) And these are the ones at the end of time who cry out all the good that they've done in the name of Jesus, but find out that was not enough!! (Matthew 7:21-23). Jesus says they had not lived the "will of the Father".

So what does that mean, if they've lived out the things they've thought he was telling them to do??? It means they were not heart, mind and soul invested in the one they called "Lord" (Mark 12:30). They carried his name, and truly thought they were his, but were not intimately tied deeply into the one whose name it was!! Intellectually, they accepted who he was, but he wasn't their constant focus and goal. They lived the behaviours without the heart connection!!

What God wants from us, more than anything, is us!!! Heart, mind and soul!!! Without reserve!! Complete devotion and adoration!! Deep, connected, constant relationship!! Without that, Christianity is just a "form" of worship!! And we don't live within the kingdom.
