Battle Grime

I have an angel statue in my garden. It's a replica of the one that guards my Dad's resting place. This one was the original, but it was chipped by the gardeners, so I brought it home and replaced it with a new one. I love the powerful protector sense it projects.

This morning I came out to pray after it had been raining. The angel that began a beautiful white, was spattered all over with debris. It looked, even more, like it had been deep in battle on our behalf. And it reminded me that there are angels all around us, covered in battle grime as they fight for our lives against the one who seeks to take them down with him.

I'm grateful for the angels. I don't want to be unaware of their fight for us. Or of the one who sends them out for us! Grateful that they leave a place of absolute perfection, to come here and become covered in battle grime on our behalf. ❤️
