One of the greatest gifts God ever gave us is the gift of parenting. It's the closest thing we have to understanding his heart in action.
Two people create a tiny individual, made in their image - a little of one and a little of the other! In that child they will each see characteristics of themselves! And yet, this is a new and unique person - never before and never to be replicated!
Each child receives the whole of our love!!! Somehow that can happen!!! Each one is the most precious little thing in our hearts.
And it's only when we become parents that we learn something amazing! We can become so devoted to that tiny being that we will deny our selves in order to meet their needs and desires!! We learn a love that is self-sacrificing and unrelenting! Despite unawareness, ungratefulness and rebelliousness, we will continue to love and try to positively influence and buoy their lives to the best of our abilities!!!
And we cherish every beautiful moment we have with them. We value when they reveal the beauty that's inside them! And we are deeply honoured and adore when we receive love in return from them!
That - all of that! - is God's experience with us!! Parenthood is it's mirror. A little tarnished here on earth. His way is a far more shiny-perfect 😊. But the relationship and love learned in parenting is one of the closest things I've seen.
