Have you ever sat in the morning, enjoying the play of shadows and light cast by the rising sun? And loved the glossy reflections on the leaves? And the golden green glow of others? It's all so beautiful and serene - until that ball of dazzling fire bursts upwards from those canopies and burns into your retinas!!! 😄
It reminded me of something Paul said "For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known." 1 Cor 13:12. He was speaking about knowing who God is and what exists in His world! When Jesus was with them, he said "I still have many things to tell you, but you can't handle them now." John 16:12.
Like that morning sunlight, what we learn of God is tiny, compared with who he is! But it's all we can handle right now! One who did encounter him in his awesomeness, "... fell at His feet like a dead man."! ("But He placed His right hand on me and said, “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last, the Living One. I was dead, and behold, now I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of Death and of Hades.…") Rev1:17-18
When he comes back, we will be dazzled by the incredible entity that is our God!! We really have only the tiniest idea!! How can we ever think we have him all worked out?!!
