Serving Love...

When Jesus took off his robes, wrapped a towel around his waist, and took on the servant's role in washing his disciples' feet, he taught them - and us - something core about what he stood for. And who we need to be as his followers. In taking off those robes, he symbolised stripping himself of his status and rights, and taking on the role of deepest love and service to those who at this moment, were vying for top position and status. They did not deserve his gift. He was certainly the one worthy of the highest adoration in that room. But he chose, instead, to use that moment as a great teaching one. In humbleness is found a greatness beyond any pride. And loving gifts of service speak greater volumes than any argument promoting one's own worth.
