I think the idea of "rest" has this element in it -
We were given a day to remember that while the chores of daily life are what fills our minds the majority of the time,
on this day, we stop -
as a reminder that he is the provider.
That we can rest in that.
Not stress over it the way we're prone to.
He's the shepherd of Psalm 23, providing lush sustenance and refreshing peace, quenching our thirst and nurturing us with goodness.
He is the carer for the "birds of the air" in Jesus' teachings, who "neither sow nor reap",
but still God provides for them.
(Matthew 6:25- , his message on worry)
So on this day, we stop.
And acknowledge that he is really where it all comes from.
And we don't have to carry the weight of it like we feel the need to.
We can give it back to him.
And rest.
