Rainbow Light
Driving home I caught the flash of a fragment of rainbow in our stormy skies as the sun broke through for a moment. It's amazing that the seeming simplicity of sunlight can be scattered into an array of beautiful colours as it passes through raindrops in a sodden sky. I remembered the wonder of creating rainbows in the classroom as a child. An ordinary block of plastic or glass whose only apparent interest lay in its transparent angles, could be used to fray light into gorgeous blocks of colour against the wall. But it could do nothing, without the light. Kind of like us. We exist. We have a form of interest. But when that Jesus light shines though us, we display the beauty of a rainbow.
