So thankful for this land where I was born!
HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY EVERYONE!!! ❤
I celebrate the land where I was born,
The land I love to explore...
Of beaches blue with pure sands of white
Strewn with jewels tossed from the deep.
Of towering gums with peeling bark -
and gumnut babies dancing above.
Of clear blue skies where the sun shines hot
And raucous colours fly!
Of creeks and rivers tumbling down
Where wondrous creatures hide,
Hanging thunderous veils of frothing white
Over walls of reddened stone.
There's wide, wide plains of heat and dust
That tempt the seekers soul
With dreams of nuggets and gems to find
And velvet skies studded with gold.
And when the rains come and the skies open up
The barrenness carpets in colour!
And morning and evening bring skies lit with fire!
And the night breezes sooth the soul.
The leaf litter strewn throughout our bushland
Hide gifts so precious and rare -
Tiny orchids lift their faces to shine at the sun
And creatures, unique, scurry here!
I love this great land with its contrasts and colours,
The land I was born to enjoy!
And I'm thankful for all the adventures I've had -
And yearn to seek out some more!
