Move out!

I found myself singing the Sister Act version of Joyful, Joyful..., and thought again, what a joy filled version it was! And my mind filtered past the song to snippets of the movie segments - and something stood out to me! Way back then - almost 20 years ago now! - a secular movie was telling us how to reach hearts and lives in the community and fill our churches! And while it didn't involve "diluting the message", it did include updating styles of delivery, and getting out into the community with gifts of beautification, support and friendship! Real one-on-one caring! Filling a need!

What if, instead of spending quite so much time and effort to run worship programs, we worked on using the skills God gave us to offer something valuable to our neighbourhood? - a budgeting workshop? Help with wills? Mechanical repairs for those who need help? Tutoring for struggling students? I'm sure if we put our heads together, we could come up with all sorts of creative ways to share what we have with those around us! And in doing so, we'd be building family.
