Morning Moments

There's something about the early morning - as the sun rises into the sky. As the birds sing their boisterous choruses, and the cool air moves. There is quietness, so you can listen to the rustle of leaves. And a gentle stillness rests.

It is this time of day that leads me most willingly to my still place with God. When my mind is most ready to listen. When my day is not yet driven by the busy things in life. It is here that I connect most easily. And it occurs to me, that I am not alone! Jesus too, found himself drawn to the quietness of morning for time with his Father.

And perhaps it's the garden too! I find it much easier connect outdoors - amongst things he has made. And as I thought that this morning, it reminded me that God came searching for Adam and Eve - in the Garden of Eden - in the cool of the day! In this case, it was probably evening - after the day's busyness was done. But I suspect he might have walked with them there in the mornings too. It just has that feel.

And I find that the thoughts that come to me in these early morning visits - my quiet garden moments, stay with me, and lead my thoughts as I move through my day. And my day is lifted because of it. ❤️
