Love "Dates"

It is a beautiful thing to keep "dates" going after you are married. It's so easy to slip into time and chore management mode when you get to spend so much home time together. You can start to see each other as just another part of your busy day, instead of stopping to focus on and cherish all of the things you value in the other.

"Dates" have a way of altering that! They take you back a step, to when learning about each other was an adventure! They remind you of what drew you to each other. Like kindling to the smouldering fire, they revitalise the flame! And if you want to keep a marriage alive in romance, "dates" are an intentional way to do that!

I love that God dreamed up something similar! That he made a "date" to keep with us every week! A day to spend exploring the beauty of him and all he intended for us!! A day that he gets to have us stop the "busy" and just "be" with him, so he can share his beauty with us a little but more! So we can "see" him, and love what we see, just that bit more!!

It's the "date" days that help our focus and love keep growing!! And just like in a marriage, we need to be intentional about them, or the spark can slowly fade away.
