Those times when I focus on things that make me feel discontented and frustrated - do I allow myself to just stay focused on them - to stew in my annoyance or misery? Or do I choose to let it go and choose God as my focus? It is a choice. Why would I choose to stay in the grip of thoughts that cause me distress, when I can choose another space that offers peace and freedom and contentment? So I have decided - every time I notice my thoughts straying to negativity, I will deliberately say "I choose you!", and shift my thoughts to the God who loves me. It changes everything!
