I had just started out on my drive to work. I was having trouble getting my mind focused on God. And a song began to play in my mind.... "You make beautiful things, you make beautiful things out of the dust..." (Gungor) And I was thinking how amazing God was that he could make all the incredible things around us out of dust - out of nothing! And breathe life into them so they lived and moved and created, themselves! How awesome is he?!!
And then the next line began to play - "He makes beautiful things, he makes beautiful things out of us." And he does! He takes the messy me that I bring to him and begins to turn it into the thing of beauty it was intended to be!
But put the two lines together, and you have something very powerful. When our lives and our dreams and what we live for have turned to dust - when it seems there is no hope, that all is lost - God is still able. He is the God of healing and hope and restoration - even when it feels like nothing is left. And I know that to be true. ❤️
