Beautiful focus

It was cold. And dark. And I really didn't want to be heading out to work. My whole body moved with reluctance.

And I began to think about how different it was when I was heading out to do something exciting! Especially when it meant spending the day with someone I loved! My whole demeanour changes! I'm filled with anticipation and eagerness! And this thought dropped into that moment -

I spend every moment of every day with someone who's love I cherish deeply! I should be waking up filled with eager anticipation every morning - because it's another day I get to spend with him!!! The trick is to remember that when the drabness or harshness of our lives drags our focus elsewhere. Remember how beautiful and warm and joy-filled and peaceful he is, and how much it lifts us just being aware of him!

If we get our focus right, every day can be beautiful.
