As in the Days of Noah...

Lately my prayers have been filled with a sense of urgency. I look around at a world struggling with war, starvation, slavery and oppression, brokenness and depression. My pleasant little niche seems to belie such existence, but I know it's larger than life to many! And I know that it's not going to get better (although that should never stop us trying!!).

I know this world is in a downward spiral, and that only Jesus coming back to finish it all, will end it! And for the many whose lives are misery, I pray that will be soon!!! But as soon as I do that, I think of so many lives that will be lost because they're not clinging to the one who will bring them safely out of it! So my prayers are torn. And I'm sure God's heart is too! "The Lord isn't slow about keeping his promises, as some people think he is. In fact, God is patient, because he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost." 2 Peter 3:9.

But before those who know him get too complacent, comfortably moving through life in the knowledge they have "given their lives" to him, be warned by the story in Matthew 25! All 10 virgins were waiting for the bridegroom! 5 had gotten careless and were oblivious to any urgency! They were resting in their sense of security, not seeking to keep their connection alive and secure! And they missed out!!! Even though they thought they belonged!!

Jesus warned us that ... "As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man." Matthew 24:37-39 Don't let yourself be complacent!! Seek after God with everything in you!!! I'm not sure God can hold off much longer!!
