There were glimpses of memories from times past. Moments with people who became the ones I loved - and still love. And do you know what melted my heart to them most? When I was just learning who they were? It was their kindness to me. A touch, a smile, warm eyes, gentle teasing, uplifting laughter, reaching out, sharing life, offering time and attention to one who felt mostly unnoticed. Kindness. One of the most moving and powerful forces amongst us. Maybe second only to Love. It sounds like such a soft word - easily overlooked. But it's power melts hearts and creates bonds that hold through time and distance. Those of you I love, know who you are. I won't name you. But I love you dearly.
