"He makes beautiful things out of the dust" - Gungor

For those who know me - I am a worship leader. I combine my love of music and singing with my love of words, and my deepest love, God. Kind of odd for someone who started out so timid and afraid, so shy with others.

I began in my mind's eye to trace my course in this direction. From the young girl, alone in the kitchen, playing with how to make my voice bigger and much more operetic sounding, to singing in a little folk group with my sister and her friend, that group being heard and asked to sing with a popular church band at the time - couldn't do it then since we were country girls and non-driving! To later marrying one of that same group, singing with them, but still too shy to do much more than harmonies. Then, when that all dissolved, heading to the other side of the country to start again, going to a church where someone knew me and got me singing again, although I told them I didn't want to say anything. And before you knew it, I was leading songs and being quite outspoken about them. The rest, as they say, is history. God took a quiet, tiny, fearful girl, and gradually grew her into someone who could stand up and share her love for him. In a way I love. He even helps me use all my hurts and brokeness to be more able to reach people who've been there too. I am more than a little in awe of how he brings so much good out of what he has to work with. ❤️
