It's raining in my garden. I listen to its splattering and watch as it runs in riverlets to the plant beds. It soaks deep into the soil and bathes their thirsty roots. And those roots draw it in, sending it upward, spreading those life-giving drops until the whole plant is permeated with its goodness. The plant lifts and strengthens, and flourishes as it is filled! Jesus described himself as the water of life. If we soak up that living flow like the plants soak up the rain, our lives too are lifted and strengthened, and flourish! He is there - it is ours! But we have to take the time to draw him in! He never comes uninvited.
