How suddenly things can change. It was only a couple of weeks ago that the biggest concern in my community was the bulky rubbish that was piling up on the verge side for yearly collection, and how ugly that looked. Life continued as normal. Then almost overnight, it degenerated into squabbles over toilet paper and bare supermarket shelves. How quickly people revert to primordial behaviours - as soon as they feel threatened! I must admit - I am disappointed. I thought our civilised western world was better than that. I was a little shocked at the abruptness of the turnaround!
I guess that's what happens when you trust in the normalcy of life for your sense of security. This virus has shown us something - all those things we rely on to make us feel like our world is ok - our jobs, our health system, our finances and income, our training programs and education system, our ability to purchase what we want, when we want, to socialise and enjoy entertainment and the company of friends and family, to go where we want, when we want - these are things we unconsciously claim as our right in this "civilised" part of the world. They are the things which we set up to make us feel safe and secure - things we think cannot be taken from our control. And we like knowing we've set them up in our favour. They make us feel comfortable.
But as we've seen recently - how quickly they can be stripped away! And what do you have left to trust in then??? This life can change so fast, turning our whole world upside-down. There is only one thing that you can rely on to never change. And that is why he is the rock! God never changes! He is the same yesterday, today and forever. In this world of chaos and confusion, he is peace and strength. Keep your eyes on him and he'll get you through this. With the beauty of your intended spirit intact. ❤️
