I had a beautiful thought this morning! It relates to the way the Japanese use gold to enhance the cracks in broken pottery, bringing poignant beauty to what would otherwise be ugly scars. It's called kintsugi - literally "golden repair", and is symbolic of how the hard things we experience can become the places of our deepest beauty.
I often feel like one of those vessels, pieces of me welded together by a master artist! He's made something beautiful out of my brokenness!!! This, I have already loved. But there's something else...
This morning I realised, he's not just the master craftsman! He is the gold!!! He's that beauty that holds my pieces together!!! He's what makes my life a beautiful masterpiece!! He's the gold that replaces the scars and reforms shattered pieces into vessels of value and purpose!!! Take him away, and I'm just pieces again.
