I started to work in the grey of early morning. A light drizzle sprinkled my windscreen. Quite a drab beginning to my day. And then, as I neared the city, the pantomime of colour began! I noticed the sky in front of me was tinged with lovely pinks, and I guessed that the sunrise behind me was a beautiful one. When I dared to glance, I was greeted with gorgeous golds and vivid apricots! The whole sky was washed in warm colours! Then, through the raindrops ahead, a half-rainbow suddenly glowed! Lost in the wonder of all this beauty, I glanced back again at the glamour behind. In that moment, the rainbow was lost, and I was slightly saddened - but only for a moment! For in the next instant, a full rainbow arched it's way across the city skyline, taking my breath away!!! What a morning!!!! I only wish I could have recorded it all ... And to think it started out so dismally!! I try to see life lessons in everything. And the thing that struck me from this - on our saddest days, when life seems to have dealt us a really hard hand - those are the times when something beautiful can shine the brightest. A kind word. A thoughtful gift. A hug or a smile. They shine the most when things are darkest.
