Pet Love ❤️

Every so often I hear a little dog barking near our house. It sounds so much like Teddi, a precious little pet we lost a couple of years ago. And it makes me a little sad. Death is a part of our lives here - and even with our animals, the goodbyes are hard. But I sat and remembered her fluffy little wriggly body, so excited to be held and loved that she almost wiggled right out of your arms! And I realised something.
Our pets bring us a love that is different from friends and family. It's sweet and innocent and completely without motive! They just love to be loved - and they love letting you know it! I wish our person to person relationships were a little less complicated, and a little more like what we have with our pets. I think they were meant to be that way. But we have memories of hurts that can get in the way and make us more reserved with that love - more careful to protect our hearts. We still love - and in some ways it's a stronger love, because we choose to love knowing we might still be hurt. We humans are prone to mistakes unfortunately, and they often cause injury to someone.
But those wiggly little pets - they're loving with all the love they have in them! Totally without reserve!! And that kind of love is very precious. Maybe God gave them to us to help us catch a glimpse of something closer to what his love is like. Pure, innocent, overwhelmingly beautiful!! And very, very precious.
