Head lifter

Have you ever stood before someone in discouragement and shame, your head hanging, eyes unable to meet theirs? It comes with an awareness of expectations not met, of falling dreadfully short of what should have been. Not only do we feel their disappointment, our heart is deeply pierced with our own. We have not been who we meant to be - what we wanted to be! We have failed - yet again.

We may not experience this too much with humans - afterall we know they fail too!! But when we stand before the perfection of God, we can be only too aware of the short comings of who we are. I'm sure this shame is the reason so many people avoid facing him. No one likes that feeling.

But I want to tell you something. In the Bible it said that God is "the lifter of my head". With his amazing and overwhelming love, he gently kisses away my shame and lifts my eyes to his!!! There is nothing like the awesome sense of freedom that that brings!!! And it's that beautiful, restoring love and brings out the beauty in me!!! ❤️
