That Treasure!

There is a pearl, of great price. More beautiful than has ever been seen. Worth giving up everything for.

A treasure, hidden in a field. Not open to the casual eye! Buried in the commonness of life. Something you must dig for in order to find! Like the largest gold nugget anyone has ever found! It is singularly rare! Something to take your breath away at its beauty. But it remains hidden unless you seek it out.

That was how Jesus described his kingdom. A life established on the bedrock of love. Precious and beautiful. The most exquisite thing you've ever seen!

The most wonderful connection came to me the other day - when I was thinking about all that he has done and been for me in my life. He IS that kingdom! He is the pearl of great price worth giving up anything else for! He is the most incredible treasure - but you need to dig for it, to find how great that treasure is!!

Nothing else compares to him!! He is the most precious thing my heart has ever known. And it's only through seeking him out every day that I've come closer to seeing how very beautiful he is!

Being his is more than just intellectual acceptance of his existence - more than just being willing to do what he says. It's a heart being won over to lose its self in his beauty. And that only comes with spending time with him.

Jesus answered him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind’. This is the first and great commandment." Matthew 22:37
