Stick Man

Just finished watching "Stick Man" with my grand babies. It's a story by Julia Donaldson about a stick man who became separated from his stick family by so many people and animals with uses for that "stick". He wanders, lost and alone, through dramas and adventures, all the while longing and trying to find his way home.

Mid way through the video, my little two year old became very sad for him and began to cry. I pulled her on to my lap and said - "It's ok. He'll find a way home. The story's not finished yet." Sure enough, the kind hearted Stick Man, who had helped others along the way, helps Santa when he gets stuck in a chimney. Then he helps deliver gifts based on what each character used him for, until Santa finally delivers him home!! The Stick family's very best Christmas gift. And I said "See! He made it home! The story's not finished if there's no happy ending."

It struck me as I said it, how true those words are for us. Life here has many hiccups and struggles. Just remember - it's not the end of the story yet. Not till the happy ending. ❤️
