God's plan for us was a life of beauty, adventure, and the satisfaction of living it well!! You only need to stop a moment and see what he made for us to sense that!! Yes - life is not as he intended it! It has been spoiled somewhat. We are greedy and self-focused creatures, and we have ruined, to some extent, what began as pure joy! But if you stop and notice, the beauty is still there!! And if you believe as I do, that all of it was created for our enjoyment and fullest life, your heart becomes drawn to its maker.
And then you think of the next stage of the story. We had broken the world we'd been given to love. We ourselves suffered and broke in it. After all, everything is interlinked. So this maker, took on our brokenness and suffered with us - to show us what love really was!! To show us who he really was!!! Not the one causing as the suffering, but the one who would endure it with us to bring us back to the life he intended!! To win our hearts back. Because that is the way he lords. Not by force as we do. But by winning our hearts. By pouring his love out till we see it and cannot help loving in return.
Incredible creator. Selfless love. Restorer of beauty and heart. That is my Lord. My soul sees. And I'll adore him forever.
